At 16, most teenagers are stressing over tests, navigating social circles, and figuring out what they want to be when they grow up. Adyson "Addy" Johnston isn't most teenagers. Buckle up, because this desert dynamo is leaving a trail of dust in her rearview mirror.

Addy's journey into racing began before she could even walk, surrounded by the sound of engines and the thrill of racing. With her family's deep-rooted connection to the off-road community, it was only natural that Addy would inherit their love for going fast in the dirt.

"Definitely family," Addy asserts, reflecting on her introduction to the off-road community. "My dad introduced my mom, and then my mom and dad introduced it to both my brother and myself. I've been around it my whole life."

While Addy dabbled in dirt bike racing at a young age, it wasn't until she laid her hands on the steering wheel of a Polaris RZR 570 that her true passion ignited. From that moment on, Addy knew that off-road racing was her calling, her destiny written in the dust.

Guiding Addy every step of the way is her mentor and father, a seasoned off-road veteran with victories at the Baja 1000 and a wealth of racing knowledge. "My dad is definitely my mentor, he's an amazing driver, and I've learned so much from him."

Drawing inspiration from racing icons like Kristen Matlock, Addy embodies the spirit of perseverance and determination that defines the off-road racing community. She honors those who paved the way before her, blazing a trail for future generations of female racers. Yet, it's not just the thrill of victory that drives Addy forward—it's the sheer love of the sport, the camaraderie of the off-road community, and the support of her family and friends.

If there's one thing that defines Addy's approach to racing, it's pure grit. Forget elaborate pre-race rituals or meticulously planned diets. This teen thrives on adrenaline. Her pre-race playlist, aptly named "Let's Go Rasen," is a collection of high-octane songs, with Limp Bizkit's "Break Stuff" serving as her personal battle cry.

Her greatest achievement so far? Winning the Mint 400 alongside her uncle. The victory was as unexpected as it was exhilarating, a testament to their teamwork and determination. They weren't there to win, but when they found themselves leading the pack, they dug deep and crossed the finish line as champions.

Addy's support system extends beyond family. Sponsorships are a work in progress, but her inner circle – her family, her uncle's pit crew, and a network of off-road enthusiasts – keep her engine running (both literally and figuratively).

As she prepares for her next race in the Unlimited Off-Road Racing Series, the California 300, Addy's sights are set on victory, fueled by determination and a thirst for adventure. With each race, she pushes herself to the limit, knowing that the finish line is just the beginning of her next off-road odyssey.

With a heart as bold as the Arizona sky and a spirit that knows no bounds, Addy Johnston is a force to be reckoned with in the world of off-road racing. As she revs her engine and tears through the desert, she leaves a trail of dust and dreams in her wake, proving that age is just a number when it comes to chasing glory in the dirt.
