Pretty cool to see how well the UTVS are hanging in there with the rest of the classes at Norra. A few teams were Mid pack I belive as of last night ? The live feed , even with a few glitches is pretty cool to watch. Sad to see the Land Shark go down today. That car was kicking some ass. Still. Hope they rebuild it. Amazing watching Walker wheel that Buggy around still after all these years.

For the average guy wanting to race Baja I think this is a great option since it is easy to chase, relatively smooth course (limited whoops and silt) multiple day stages so you can work on your car when done for the day. They added a basically stock class for UTV's so now no one has an excuse.
I completely agree with Reid. ^^^^. Four days of racing fun and you get to race against the legends such as Rod Hall, Walker, Robby Gordon, Bob Gordon, Larry Ragland, Mark Post, Mark McMillin, Mark Stahl, Ricky Johnson, Cam Theriot, etc. This is a no nerf race that is actually run like a rally raid...eg Dakar, with 'specials' and 'transit' sections. Every year it is getting bigger and they call it the 'happiest race on earth.' There is a class for nearly every off road vehicle conceivable. This year there is a husband and wife team that is doing it on a motorcycle two-up. Yes they are insane, but still in the race and today is the last day. Dave Cole from King of the Hammers did some ground breaking live coverage this year and despite some minor glitches, was a HUGE success.
We are definitely planning on doing this race next year. Everytime I speak to someone about the NORRA 1000 that has done it they all say the same thing " It's the best race i've ever done". I really think a UTV would be awesome in this race and the fact that you could race it almost stock is even better.
