Murray Racing, In The Desert Toyz Built Can Am Commander 1000 Prove to be the Perfect Combination at the BITD Henderson 250 Desert Race!

Henderson NV, December 02, 2011 Murray Racing arrived in Henderson for the BITD Transwest Ford Henderson 250, in third place in the points standing. The goal as always was to finish, with this being a double points race just finishing the race assured us a top three finish on the season. We also were looking forward to working some final bugs out on our Can-am Commander in preparation for the 2012 season that kicks off in less than a month. Dec 03, 2011 at 5:45 am on a brisk 30 degree morning one by one the UTV’s started to stack up at the starting line. Murray racing drew the 7th starting position in the Pro utv class, starting 8th overall with one SR1 starting in the front of the pack. The UTV’s were released 2 at a time off into the desert to determine the outcome of the 2011 season. Our 1917 Can Am Commander was lined up on the outside position and when the light went green, we pulled hard taking the hole shot. The first 3 miles were extremely rocky, and rough with very square whoops. We pulled ahead, and passed the John Deere. Several quads were passed, then a few more UTVs by pit 2. We were running 4th in class when we passed the Kawasaki Tech Three car off to the side moving into 3rd. We came into the main pit and could see the leaders pitting up ahead. We did a quick visual inspection in pit 1 and we quickly returned to the track overtaking the Coastal Racing Polaris in the pit to take over 2nd in class. We pulled hard through a rough rocky section, and were within a few yards of the leader Matt Parks when he pulled into the remote pit for a quick rear shock adjustment. We took the lead and never looked back. We are excited to bring the first BITD win to Can Am in the Commander on their first year out in the side by side market. We are impressed daily with the power of the Rotax motor, and how well the Commander performs. The Can Am Commander ran flawlessly through the rough terrain pulling hard on long uphill sections keeping us in the lead. Our Desert Toyz built suspension was amazing, keeping us fast through the whoops and running all season without any failures. The Elka suspension worked effortlessly through even the roughest of sections. Our ITP Bajacross tires kept us from getting any flats, and we had superb traction through the high speed turns. Our Dragonfire exhaust and EFI fuel tuning software kept the Commander fast, and reliable. Thanks to Sunset Vans Inc, and Headstone Boutique Clothing for backing our team and keeping us on the podium! We are excited to finish the 2011 season with a win, and 3rd overall on the season. Look forward to the Murray Racing Team in 2012 fighting for the Championship!

Sorry Sean. I mad a big mistake. I know we were to be lined up with you, and I never looked closely to see that it was not you, was to focused on the green light. My bad. I will change the original post. Job well done on the strong finish! Keep up the good work, and see you in Parker!:D

Yeah Joe they put the DSR1 up front. Now more reason to come out and work your magic!!! You can have wide open desert, but then again, isn't it more fun to pass everyone!
