I emailed the ranger and here is his response about the camp fire situation. BTW, Chuchupate campground is up the road but does not have ATV access to the trails and can only accomodate tent camping and VERY small trailers:

David, As of this week, the Los Padres National Forest has gone to Level 2 fire restrictions. Wood and/or charcoal fires can only be used in a campfire use area.
You would need to camp at Chuchupate campground and use the metal ring provided.

Cisco, I can bring a gas grill, but I won't be out there until Friday night around 8. Unless I can get off of work a little earlier. It won't be a problem to bring it. The grill is a 3 burner and has a stove top burner on the side.
