Wish I was there... I drove my SR1 in the dirt for the first time yeasterday, and this things going to be fun!

I think as long as the SR1s are running with the unlimiteds, it's actually good they are about the same, it will make for some good races, which is good for the spectators. If one day they are rn separetaly, just the noise and the sideways driving will make them look faster than they are.

But I agree, as more seat time, and tuning advance these cars/drivers, they are just going to get faster, and faster.

Congrats to everyone in both classes, and have fun in the mud today!!!

Change of plans. There doing a 2 lap practice now. Track looks pretty good considering all the water that was on it. They turned it down 18 inches where the puddles were.

Straights are really muddy but the corners looked pretty good.

Dan had the dominate car today. Unfortunatly he flat landed off one of the huge jumps and hurt his back pretty bad. They red flagged the rAce and spent about 20 min helping him out of the car. He was walking around after the race but obviosly uncomfortable. He was neArly 2 seconds a lap faster than anyone.

It quit being a "utility" vehicle as soon as you took the bed off.

Also, we are very happy for Gary. Finally, TOP STEP! Way to go GT!

RJ, 2 for 2, congrats as well, that RZR is amazing.

As bummed as I was we couldnt get it together in time for Vegas, with the rain and all I'm kinda glad we didnt make it. Not really but kinda...;)

Good job to everyone who made the trip. Ill have the car & the boy at Speed World, another SR1 racing to screw things up for the 600 class..:D just kidding, we race clean.

the SR1's need traction, say cut and grooved 15" tires (DOT type).

and for some, this is not the first race for many of these machines.

the longer the straight aways on the tracks then this will make the SR1 shine, normal tracks, not so much.

I believe John Dempseys Kawasaki set fastest lap time of the weekend on saturday?
You are right they do need better traction.....maybe 15" tires are the answer....time will tell.

According to mylaps.com. that has every lap time of every practice and race, has Dan Kelly recording the fastest UTV time today in only 2 laps.....impressive...

The racing was so awesome this weekend! Lucas is going to be HUGE this year with the addition of the TORC trucks coming over to compete. The UTV classes are stacked and one thing is for sure, if you are going to race int he UTV classes you better come strong or dont come at all. The class is stacked from top to bottom with talented drivers and powerful race cars.

UTVUnderground.com wants to thank all the racers and members of this site who are out there supporting us on and off the track. It was pretty awesome to see all of the cars with the exception of maybe one who all were running the Undergrounds colors on their cars. For that we are greatful and for that we are proud to be attending, covering, and spectating as you all continue to make UTV racing history.

There wasn't one team that we spoke with that didnt thank us for our small contributions in covering these events. Rusty and I take great pride in representing for you all and no matter the class you race in or the car you play in at the end of the day we are all enthusiasts. Some of us are just a little crazier about the sport! haha

Here's to an exciting 2010! We are happy to be along for the ride!

Over at the Grandma and Grandpa Rhino forums there is no mention of the Lucas utv races all weekend:confused:

I'm going to need some stickers:D
