Banging Gears And Slinging Soil.
Lucas Oil Regional Racing 2015
Weller Racing SR1 is the fastest most competitive class at the regional level. Earlier this year James was staring at his old Rhino and decided its time to go fast. James built his Rhino into a fire breathing, gear slamming race machine.
With very little practice or seat time James took it to the track. The shocks were off and the machine was not tuned. His qualifying time does not reflect the amount of fun he had. The thrill of backing the car into turn 2 and blasting into the rhythm section while clicking through the gears cant be explained. James was simply using the round to get seat time. The 2015 season is half over and James is looking to come out swinging in the later rounds.
In the main things went from bad to worse. The shocks faded so bad that James was bottoming on everything. It was so rough the motor mount actually cracked off the case. James still would hang it in the turns and make that R1 scream when he could. Due to mechanical reasons James could not compete the following day.
