Seems I have heard of a company that makes a Half Boot Kit where the boot has a seem, Needs some research!

I have seen that boot on a vw ,If I remember right it slipped over and then it had small nuts and bolts to keep it close but that was a while back , kinda cool because you dont have to take every thing apart to get the boot on.
