Premier class? Why wouldn't they do like everyone asked pro turbo and pro production ? If that is the case then any n/a car should be allowed to run the turbo class IMO nothing got solved here cause people with N/A cars now are basically racing a amateur class?

Premier status is a function to some extent perception but on a practical level overall times and competitive field. If turbos don't dominate on time or only 1 or two finish a race they won't be considered premier. It just has to play itself out and then we'll know. The only thing for certain is a turbo car has more horsepower.

That's my point I agree how can they just already say it is the premier class lol

without a way to police the ECU reflashes, that seems dumb they would even put that in the rules. if they cant police the reflashes and ECU tuning, then why in the world put it in the rules. Hoping for good sportsmanship and honesty? nope.... not gonna happen... there will be folks running reflashes guaranteed.

stock turbo and injectors are pretty easy to see and notice a change. obviously Cory doesnt mind pulling a spark plug and checking the stroke of the engines. but i still dont think thats the perfect solution to police the turbo class

i truly think that with points and championship on the line for the N/A class, and for the Turbo class, you should feel just as much of a man winning the N/A class if you end up the points champion for the N/A class because there are still racers that race it, even with factory backing. 98% of the field this year (2015) has been N/A cars, that means 80% of the field next year will still be N/A cars. Why couldnt you feel super overwhelmed by winning in that class. i bet the N/A class will still have 30-40 entries every race. you are going to be racing against proven built cars with proven pro drivers. the class is still going to be backed by the factory efforts. i dont see why you could even remotely consider the class a joke to race in if you had an N/A car or bought an already built car from a race team moving up to Turbo.

I totally agree with you here! A WIN is A WIN and the N/A cars are will always run hard. It is NOT all about a motor!

You guys are killing me! So many were upset Turbos were legal in the Pro Production class and thought they should have been in the Unlimited class. Now BITD splits the class and some want to know if they can race their NA cars in the Turbo class! WTF?? And your worried about the word "Premier" in the Turbo class name? WTF!!

Don't worry about the name! None of you guys are Pro's or in the Premier class. TT's are the Premier class. And face it desert racing is amature racing. If anyone can enter a race in any class without needing a license or some sort of testing, then your an amature or hobbiest with enough money to race.

Bottom line is its a name of a class. I bet next year in several races we will see NA cars finish before the winning Turbo. The Top UTV class will be the one with the most entries, best racing and most finishers.

Well at least we can make some plans now. I was hoping they would let us play with the ECU just to make it easier to tech. It would also be nice to tune the car, they run hot and lean because of California emissions.

Wayne, you are 100% correct. There is no way for BITD to police the ECU. Cory certainly doesn't have the computer tech skills or equipment to check them. So all someone needs to do is find a hexadecimal code hacker and richen the map, change the waste gate dump and voila...a turbo racer will have increased reliable power for the price of a reflash. It W I L L happen. Maybe there should be a 'claimer' rule on the ECU.

The thing that will happen will be most all the guys who are going from NA to Turbo were finishers this year, so they will be working the bugs out of their car. Since we basically are loosing the top guys in the NA class to the Turbo class this will require the guys in the next 10-30 spots to get on the ball and fix the issues the other guys have dealt with that moved on to the Turbo class. So now, whether it is recognized or not, the UTV overall will be tracked I'm sure I'm sure. But the points and the prize will go to the winner of each class.

It will be lot like a Lemans or IMSA series race where multiple classes share the same race course in very similiar cars and classes. But the overall is looked at for nothing more then stats.

So I had to Reread this cause I just got off a 24 hr shift lol and misread it, I agree with everyone the ecu will not be able to police it and would be easier to just allow it to be open on tuning and reflash and keep the motor stock. This is good cause everyone got what they where looking for as far as a turbo class and n/a class and can continue there new builds or make a decision to stay or change classes. Saying its the premier class though is alittle ahead of the game lol. And having a overall points championship is a great idea cause it is true the n/a cars and teams are still very competitive, look at Cognito coming off back to back wins against the turbos. See everyone next year! I heard there will be a ton of new cars, drivers and teams coming out

The class is good!! But the rules are CRAP!! They fully eliminated aftermarket support in a PREMIER class!! What a joke! So the only aftermarket company's that can support the Premier race class are suspension??? If they want to keep the engines and electrical all stock, force everyone to run bone stock suspension!! Now you have something there! We will see who can drive and can keep a car together! Roll cage and fuel cell and lights, if were going to be stock, lets be stock!!

I think the rules are supposed to differentiate "Production Class" vs. "Unlimited Class". If you allow the turbo production guys to do whatever they want to an engine, doesn't the class become unlimited which already exists?

so you are saying that the current Pro UTV class is actually unlimited?
it is not.
unlimited does not only pertain to engine.
