At this point, I am sure everyone's shite looks similar or worse. :p:eek:;)

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:Sent these out today. Arms for sandblasting, and shocks to Fox, where they add their secret sauce. Pulling the motor tomorrow. Anyone else's car got the 11th hour blues? As always, I have no idea how I'm going to make it happen. Truth be told, I had no confidence what so ever in the car's preparedness at San Felipe, and the Mint. The IV 250 was not much different, and now comes the 500. I'm not good at this prep stuff, but learning fast! I hear a Benny Hill theme somewhere!:D (maybe I should lay off that secret sauce that makes ME tick!)

All this bad news? Me thinks you're bluffing!

Why is the intrusion bar cutout?

Nah, I wish I was bluffing. I'm a one man show! Nobody puts a wrench to the car except me. Total accountability. The buck stops here, and when that's the case, you just grab the bull by the horns and make $hit happen. Once in awhile (like now) you crack, and your vulnerability is overwhelmingly burdensome. When I'm manic, things seem achievable, but then the roller coaster steams towards the bottom, and suddenly, BAM:(! (hey, that's our acronym!) It usually sticks around for a while. Aint nothing but a cycle.

So no, no bluffing. Nikal stopped by a couple of days ago (it seems), he'll vouch. Just the facts. HEY, but I still got a thou (well, Marc's got the thou, truth be told) that says The Monster Mav prevails over any interested team in the 500! Dudes would have made a butt load off of our offers last year. I owned these two welchers on Rdezert last year (who, by the way, have seemed to shut their big yappers this season). It was awesome!! I'll smack, and back it with jack. Now, I'm just downright campaigning!!

Well, time for a hydraulic sandwich to start the day (and JX thinks they like their beer!) Might need to preload those coil springs a bit more people. This will not be a 48mph party down south, it's the real deal. It's our back yard, and Marc's out mowing the grass as I speak. It's BAJA time :)mad:damn, I hate going to Mexico)!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D

Are you referring to the toll road being closed due to the land slide? If so take the free road or go through Tecate.

Alright! Fly boy is in:D! Ha ha! Let me run it by Marc when he returns from his pre run this Wednesday. So to clarify;

I will bet you $1,000.00 that the "Monster Mav" will beat the UTV Inc. car in the 2014 SCORE Baja 500 (on corrected time). If only one of us finish, they win the bet by default. If neither of us finish, we get our money back. AT LEAST ONE OF US HAS TO FINISH THE RACE, WITHIN THE ALLOTTED TIME, FOR THE BET TO BE PAID. We'll meet up in contingency where we will give the money to Joey D., or someone representing him, to hold until the end of the race (no strippers Joey!). The money will be given to the victor sometime between the checkered flag, and the awards ceremony held by SCORE after the race.

I can't say anything about the Polaris t-shirt/V2R thing until I talk to Marc, but I don't think that Casey allows flammable clothing to be worn during a race anyway.

How about that boys and girls, a real wager with a real guy! Unlike the two "welchers" on Race Dezert last year, I'm dealing with a stand up guy. Yay:D! I'll add an image that I took about 2 hours ago. You'll see that I have my work cut out for me. I always do:rolleyes:!

Jim, you facetious S.O.B.!!
I don't tear into motors, trannys, or diffs, know nothing about the internal workings of shocks, and am scared to death of electrical wiring. Prepping race cars is also a gray area for me. I.m still baffled that when I begin prepping for the next race, there's a bag of 1,500 zip ties. When I'm done, damn things are all gone! WTF did they all go? Ha hee! I don't have the luxury of machinery to assist in quick remedies. Most everything needed to ready the Monster Mav for the next gig is within my ten fingers, some select hand tools, and my wealth of manufacturing experience throughout my life.

On your Cadillac 4 seater, I assume you have room to breathe. This thing is a packaging nightmare! On my 2 seat economy car, a hiccup while reaching in to remove a hidden bolt means a dzus tab to the back of the head! Doough:mad:! With the exception of a mounted radiator and a few plastic body panels, our slug is down to the frame. New motor, trans, front and rear diffs, fuel cell, cv's, alternator, new wheels to assemble, drive shafts, add in a few mod's, and the eleventh hour is already here!

My definition of "knowing" something is being able to design and build an item as good as any other on the market. I can't begin to count the number of times in my professional life that a "specialist" comes in, and I know more than them about their craft, an area that I would consider myself "green" in. (and I consider myself dumb!) Adrian Newey, Mickey Thompson, Ron Dennis, Dan Gurney, Carroll Smith, now those are some smart dudes!

I still think that the success that we are enjoying is more related to the shortcomings of the competition (in the area of design and fabrication) AND Marc's driving abilities, than it is our car is anything but an average desert car.

Man, there I go ranting again:D! The short answer: No, I don't do shocks!!!:D:D:D:D:D

Nice, it sounds like its getting a whole new makeover!! I'm just kinda shocked that you have never learned how to service your own shocks. Starting from scratch build, yea they are kinda scary, but just opening up and servicing whats already there is not a huge ordeal.

Fox takes good care of Marc. They service the shocks after each race. I don't think he has to pay. I wouldn't be surprised to see our livery turn from green to black and white! Anyway, I've got enough crap on my plate to open my own smorgasboard! Although, if I did know the workings of them, I would have made adjustments on our last test session. Did you see how our car bottomed out in the Mint video? In my quest for wheel travel, I probably allowed bump to be a bit lower than it should be. Ouch!

Marc's never been nerfed or passed by another UTE when the Monster Mav is healthy. Maybe you can try to be the first..........We're 7th off of the line. Where are you starting? Sounds like you are ready to challenge. RM 100-160 along the beach is where the ballsy drivers let it all hang out. Better not let us out of your sights before then, 'cause that's opposite lock alley for Marc!! Then, Camalu to Mike's. Rough terrain. The Monster Mav just gobbles that $hit up. It ought to be one of the best UTV races SCORE has ever seen. I think 1/2 or more will finish, but there will be three dicing up front for 2nd..............
Oh, we'll be waiting for you guys at the checkers!!!!

No. I can't handle the bouncing around! Probably has something to do with my liquid diet! Truth be told, I really dislike racing as a participant. In the car, or in the pits. Dislike Mexico even more. I dread this time of year!

Im starting ahead of you so no passing will be required .. do you call it a ute because yours is a Utility Terrain Experiment ? I know they keep you locked up telling you shit like you need to strip that minimav down to the frame ect ect but really some UTVs you can just go out and drive .. I did 4800 Miles across the United States in a pretty much stock RZR, it only required 1 belt change and a quick oil and air filter change .... whats nerfed ?
