We started on the race car build for Nick Thompson this afternoon. Yesterday we stripped the car down to nothing, and cut off most of the superfluous parts. The cage tacked together pretty quickly and looks pretty cute for a sxs flat roof cage. This car is going to have all the trim and fixins you might expect from a race car rolling out of our shop. He's going to run the stock replacement race legal suspension package and have solid doors welded to this cage. We're considering going somewhere unique with the tin work, but haven't landed on a final decision yet.

For the most part though it's going to be a fairly modest build. After all it's a race car and it need to be light.

The modest beginnings of a short-course race-car build.

Cage welded to the chassis.

We fit the trailing arms and finished welding the cage. Also installed the nerf bars.
The car moved into sheet metal for some door & roof panels.
