first great pics by all.

secondly I thought you had to have 6 point cages and solid doors?????????

I thought ISA was teching cars???? IMHO this is no way to start a set of rules and letting cars compete that do not meet the rules, just my .02

the pics clearly show a rzr with the door opening while racing, the xp4 with factory side nets and no head net, at least one non 6 point cage.

Thanks for the props Rog! We hustle to get the shots!

As for rules. The ISA is not yet the governing body of the WORCS series this year however in 2012 they intend on going full blown ISA. So with that said ISA can't be held responsible at this time. While I cannot vouche for why, who, or what exceptions were made I will tell you that Sean made it clear that he would allow a grace period of sorts to allow everyone to get up to speed. Apparently some have figured that welding the door bars to the frame/chassis is all the additional (6) points they need. I see their point. Things are improving and Mike and Jeff were there to perform tech for WORCS but under current WORCS rules. I assume certain things will not be allowed to pass at primm but I am
Only assuming.

Oh and as for doors. From my memory it is ok to have opening doors but they are supposed to have a secondary locking mechanism to keep them from being opened in competition. This could be a pin, hose clamp, or zip tie to hold them closed.

Rog I was the one teching cars for the WORCS race this weekend. I was there as a vendor and asked to help out. I also wear an ISA hat as I sit on the board of Directors for the ISA so that may be where the ISA confusion came into play.
I was teching cars per WORCS 2011 rules not ISA rules. In their rule book it does not require a six point cage unless it is a factory cage. All it states is aftermarket cages are approved for use. The WORCS staff also instructed me to allow each team a single provisional for the season if they were not up to par for the race. Any issues would have to be corrected by the next race. Racers such as Beau used this provisional to be able to compete. That is why he was out in his RZR XP4 in stock form.

I hope this helps clarify the tech situation for you.

makes sense, since the latches on those pro armor doors (in the pic)apparantly are not up to the task of staying shut, just sayin.

again it is great to see such a turn out, but some safety things should not be excused, even once. It only takes one tragedy for all of this fun to go away, as we found out in the barstow race.

not trying to be a dick, but this is serious for everyone to enjoy these racing events safely.
