PerkinsDirt is ready for some night racing, Christina will be behind the wheel for this race, unlike me, she is smooth and fast, don't think she will have any problems keeping all four wheels on the car.

I'm getting pretty excited for the race this weekend! My new LSR kit is just about installed with Fox IBP's all around i cant wait to see how it handles. We still have to build the new axles, mount spare tire, and get an alignment. I wont be getting there until close to midnight on Friday so hopefully ill be able to prerun one lap.
Are you sure your going to make it hammy? Seeing that your not doing any of the work yourself. You sure you want to put your car trough its first race being finished the night before the race itself. Sounds like we could put some test time on it around here so when you break something we can just pick you up with a trailer and bring you back to the shop, that way your car will be perfect for V2R!

That does not sound very supportive coming from my pit crew. I'm going to race, I'm taking off work tomorrow so ill have all of tonight and tomorrow to get the car ready to go. We pushed it way closer on time for KOH so I'm not too worried, luckily i have some other pretty awesome friends/teammates that do always help me get the car together.

I just sent in my registration. #1058 is IN!

Anyone want to team up for pit support? I'd rather not have my wife and kids refueling at night.

I'm bummed - The 1063 won't be there. Was really looking forward to this one - I think we've finally got the suspension dialed.

Good luck guys - See you in August.

A few words about the PURE “200†–

It looked like it was going to turn out to be a really fun, fast and challenging race. A bit fast for my liking but most everyone who pre-ran the course loved it, in spite of all those course markings missing the morning of the race. We re-marked most of the race course and by the time the race started at 6 p.m. everything seemed to be in order.

Unfortunately, another problem reared its ugly head late into the race, as at least one vehicle, possibly two, of what had to be local drunken losers ruined the event for all. As a result we had to “STOP†the race when incident upon incident on the course, involving sabotage like placing land minds, matrasses, rocks, lumber, etc. strewn on parts of the course were reported by racers. It told us that race was no longer safe to continue. So we pulled the plug with the leaders having completed 7 of the 9 laps for the event.

Three “official†vehicles, law enforcement and two groups of racer’s friends on UTVs roamed the area where there were sightings of a "blue station wagon with three headlights" that got into the course late into the evening and created havoc.
Unfortunately, we were NOT able to find them, which in the afterthought; it might have been a blessing in disguise. Personally speaking, I was already thinking of what I would do if I found that “blue station wagon†with my course-marking Jeep. I can guarantee you that the “blue†station wagon would not be moving, even if it meant sacrificing my trusty old Cherokee. Others, who were out there looking for these clowns, would have probably done worst damage.

Regardless, Lois and I and our staff wish to sincerely apologize for cutting the event short. But in the interest of safety, we had to do it. I can’t say that it won’t happen again, as sometimes things of this nature happen in racing, whether in Nevada, Arizona, California or in Baja. There are plenty of stories to back that up. But here in California City, it is especially painful because our city takes pride in welcoming OHVers with open arms. These Jokers are the anomaly to an otherwise great community.
Now on to the next event: The PURE “225†– August 8-9, 2014. A night race on a totally different course, in an area that we have not used is quite a while. We are also going to start encouraging everyone to use GPS in your car and work with your navigator more and more. In the future many promoters are going to relay more and more on GPS than just course marking for obvious reasons.
The results below are unofficial until July 10, at which time they are locked-in, points are awarded and we move on to the next event.
Thank you everyone for participating. Have a great Fourth of July celebration and we will see you early in August.

Thanks again for a great race Lou, too bad we had to cut it short, but being one of the people that was almost hit by this guy, I'm wy more happy at home than at thw hospital.

In other words, i lost my spare tire at between rm18-19... it is a black DWT 3 piece beadlock with a 28" itp baja cross tire... i saw it on course, as did a coupke other drivers... went back after the finish and it was picked up.... if you Lou know its whereabouts or anyone else, please PM me... I'll even throw in a reward "finders fee" ;)

It was an awesome race and course. Those dam chatter bumps at RM16-19 where crazy haha. Glad you stopped it, we where one of the first to report it and just coming from someone that has raced Baja for 10 years I have never had a vehicle purposely try to hit us ram us or play chicken at 75mph! I've had boobie traps and glass bottles thrown that's about it. CRAZY! But other note, great event and glad everyone is safe! I heard someone's car got pelted with rocks! Sorry to hear that I hope it's not bad!
