Does anyone have any good places they know of in the high desert or SoCal area to test, we are getting to be about a few weeks away from testing out new car befor the first race. We are looking for a good place to test whoops and all sorts of different desert terrain... Any help would be appreciated....

imperial valley
One of the best places is Plaster City in the Imperial Valley. Someone can drive on Evan Hewes Highway and film you as you take the knarly whooped out road right next to it. A lot of builders from San Diego do that.

Plaster City! Some of the roughest State side races were held in Plaster City. Ask anyone who has raced is Gypsum Road one of the roughest spots. Like mentioned many of the top teams use Plaster City to test. Their is even a an area everyone knows as the JIMCO test track. Every new Jimco TT, 1, 10 ect.. gets run down there. Fox Shoxs uses Plaster City as their test area too.

And like Glamisfan said you can run drive on Even Hewe's road and video the race car as it parallels the road and to see how the car is handling.

Here on Mars. If you can survive this, you can race anywhere in the Galaxy...

Definitely better than anywhere in So Cal IMHO... We've been testing and tuning for a few years there, and it is definitely tough terrain...

Hope this helps...

barstow or jv for sure. barstow road, or camp rock road in jv. that way you can head to slash x for a mountain of chilifries. and pitcher of cold beer. * watch out for the patio cat, he will stick his entire head in your pitcher of beer. trust me:eek:

I guess the bigger question is were do you live and what is closer, Barstow or Plaster City? Both are good places to test and have everything you are looking for when testing. If you are based in the Vegas area, then you test in the Primm area. If you are from the LA area, then Barstow is your place, San Diego area then you would probably go to Plaster City. Also do you have a shock tuner or engine tuner ect.. coming down to help? If so where are they coming from and where do they do most of their tuning at?

We are based out of Beaumont California.. Our shock tuner is local and will be going with us... I'm thinking Barstow will be the closest well actually where I love they are about the same for the most part.... I'm out near casino morongo pretty much...

Yep. Up 62 to 247 at Boone Road. No need to go to Barstow. Means Dry Lake will have everything you need. The KOH track should still be marked too. Hell ya can even do the rocks while you're there!!!
