Updates Mike??????????

dont have any pics.

i finished all of the tube work and installed the clutch slave cylinder and piped 3/16" hard line to it. i also installed the push pull cable for the shifter and set it up. i then installed my 300m axle shafts and greased the cv's.

i did have to limit some shock travel just to be sure i dont max out the cv. i lost a little shock travel, but once i install the limit straps i will get a feel for how much wheel travel i lost. bummer

Type 2 or 930 ?

type 2

now i just installed the chain and went to adjust it and the cv's hit the rear up rights before the chain is tight and i cannot take a link out of it. oh well it sucks trying to cram 20lbs of motor in a 5lb frame. have to dissassemble the rear end and cut out some metal then replace it at a different angle. i am glad i have Vets day off to start on the sheetmetal. hope to take it out to Sycamore saturday.

Damn, that sucks. I think I'd be looking into a tensioner like mini sprints use.

If you have an 8 over kit and 2 inch narrower bearing carrier and you lost travel, then 2" wider uprights don't sound like there gonna help a rhino. What max angle are you shooting for?

22* max. should have gone with 930's and built my own rear uprights. which is where i will have to go in the future. if not just set in onfire and dance around it. haha i love building stuff but this one has given me too many pains.

next time is a full tube my own suspension and my design parts. not going to try and work around any OEM parts.

it would be too tight. i tried to stretch the chain with the carrier in the shortest position and it is 1/2 a link off. oh well nothing is easy.
you should be able to get half links Mike, we have done this for this Trophy karts.

also for more travel I believe, like 930's you can get .001 or .002" under size balls. keeps from binding at limits.

interesting on the undersized balls.. do they wear out faster than correct sized ones? seeing as how 90% of the time, they aren't at max travel??

Nope, just more initial clearance. waay less money than full raceprepped CV's also.

I ran .001 undersized cv balls for 6 seasons, no breakage or wear issues on my sand car. ( broke two trannies though!) lol

well got the sproket and cut the chain. then attempted to adjust the chain and the cv's hit the rear a-arm pivot points on the frame. had to dissassemble the complete rear end and then cut out and gusset the arear affected. got it all back together and pleanty of clearance now for chain adjustmment.

i installed the drivers rear shock and installed limit straps limiting it to 21*. i am getting really close to blasting around the neighborhood. i can't wait.

I spoke with someone from high angle driveline today about doing axle shafts with the type 2 boot pattern using u-joints. He said no problem, but there expensive. 600 each side. Still cheaper than centerbored hubs, and I can just use the micro stubs and inner flanges for type 2 stuff. 38 degree angle.
