Subject: **IMPORTANT** ATTENTION ALL YOUTH UTVWC RACE TEAMS

Hello UTV World Championship Youth Racers & Teams,

We hope you are all as excited as we are about the upcoming Polaris RZR UTV World Championship powered by Monster Energy and the GSP Performance Youth Championship races. As you know, the Youth Championship races are a huge focus for us and this year we intend on bringing even more attention to the youth race than in years prior. Once again we will be giving away a NEW 2017 Polaris RZR 170 to the winner of the Youth Unlimited 250 class and a NEW 2017 Polaris ACE 150 to the Stock Youth 170 winner.

It is always our mission to keep the races as fair as possible for all competitors while not taking away from those who want to push the envelope in hopes of building the ultimate package between driver and machine. As we approach the race things have been brought to our attention regarding rules and the machines that force us to look closer and maintain vigilance in ensuring our tech procedures and rules are in order. This email will outline some additions and reiterate rules that more closely affect the STOCK Youth 170 CLASS.

1. PROGRAMMERS - Our current rules state that "AFTERMARKET OR RE-FLASHED ECU's are NOT ALLOWED" and we are maintaining that stance. "FUEL PROGRAMMERS are ALLOWED" and we are also maintaing that stance. It has been brought to our attention that some intend to run "programmers" that work as "fuel programmers" but also tie into the ECU to adjust timing and possibly other things. These programmers will NOT BE ALLOWED. Again, if your programmer plugs into the ECU and works to control anything other than fuel, you will be forced to run in the Unlimited 250 class.

2. WEIGHT - We had not addressed any rule mentioning fuel cells or weight. It has been brought to our attention that some may be running smaller aftermarket fuel cells and we feel this is pushing beyond the purpose of the "stock class". While we accept that we had not addressed that and do not feel its fair to rule those cars out of the stock class or force modification this close to the race, what we will now be instituting is a SOCK YOUTH 170 CLASS weight rule. We are basing this weight off of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing rule book and is the same weight requirement all of you had to abide by at the Parker 250 BITD event in January. MINIMUM WEIGHT 700LBS will be enforced. That includes DRIVER & GEAR. Vehicles will be weighed at tech and the podium finishers will be weighed in post tech as well.

3. POST TECHNICAL INSPECTION - It was outlined in this years rules that we will be performing a post-technical inspection for the top 3 finishers in the STOCK YOUTH 170 CLASS. Post-tech will include checking engine displacement, weight and all other requirements checked during the pre-race technical inspection. DO NOT put your child / racer in a position to fail this inspection and be disqualified. Think of how hard that will be for the youth racer to accept being disqualified for something he / she probably had no say or involvement in and be labeled as a cheater. In addition, it ruins the experience for celebration both for television and the other finishers of the race. If you are unsure if your modification is legal then bring it to the race tech director at time of inspection. DO NOT risk your racers or your own reputation and spoil the fun of this great event.

None of these rules are up for debate or discussion beyond this point. While we do welcome insight, questions and need for clarification, these rules are in stone and will be enforced. Remember that the purpose of this class is for the kids to have fun, to learn and to be able to grow as competitors and humans. Maintain your composure as an adult at all times. Do not disrespect officials or other competitors and remember that many of those who are working this event from registration to the race course are acting as unpaid volunteers. If you are doing things to bend or break rules to give your racer / child an advantage, remember that no one likes a cheater and your racer / child is not gaining anything by winning in a car that has unfair advantages to the others who are abiding by the rules.

I hope you all respect our stance here and understand that as this class continues to grow and the technology and development continues to increase that we as promotors and organizers also need to work to learn and adapt. We very much appreciate your support in helping us grow this class and we respect you all as competitors and understand all of the time, money and sacrifice that goes into giving your racers / children these opportunities.

See you all in Laughlin!

Respectfully,

The UTV World Championship Staff
