So I have a Honda EU2000i genny I use 99% of the time for my toy hauler to save the fuel and hours off the on board Onan 4000. At the end of last dune season my Honda was sputtering pretty bad when in eco mode and I had it choked down about 1/2 way. I do all the regular maintenance on it but the desert sand is hard on these small gennys. Probably have about 1500 hours on it and I think thats pretty good. So I am taking it down to Honda today for a tune up and to see if they can get it running like a top again without messing with the top end... If it comes to that I will buy a new one. I am looking at other gennys too, and a new one by Yamaha caught my attention.. the EF2400iSHC. Does anyone have experience with this model? It will run a little harder than the normal EF2400iS to start up AC units.

I have this same unit and usually just have to clean the carb when this happened. These will run forever if you keep the oil changed and the airfilter serviced.Mine usually runs non stop when I am at the dunes or races and have had mine since 2002.Best purchase I have ever made.
