Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame Induction to be Held During Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo

2012 inductees will be honored and silent auction to be held at Sheraton Fairplex Hotel & Conference Center, adjacent to Expo site

(POMONA, CA) The Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame (ORMHOF) announced the 2012 Class of Inductees in late July. The late Roy Denner, Casey Folks and Larry Roeseler will have their names added to the venerable list of those who have committed their lives to the off-road community. The Inductees will be honored Friday, October 5th in conjunction with the Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo in Pomona, California.

The three inductees’ extensive accomplishments cover a number of arenas in the sport including advocacy, promotion and racing. Their legacies will be celebrated and displayed for the public in Gallery Four within the famed National Automobile Museum – the Harrah Collection – located in Reno, NV. They join names synonymous with the sport including Parnelli Jones, Malcolm Smith, Steve McQueen, James Garner, Walker Evans, Rod Hall as well as many names who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes making the sport prosper and grow.

The induction process is difficult and respected with thirteen voting members thoroughly scrutinizing each nominee on the basis of significant contribution to off-road motorsports beyond wins and sport affiliation. All nominees must have at least fifteen years experience and involvement and have built, designed, driven, maintained, owned, prepared, piloted, promoted, ridden or supported an off-road vehicle. They are characterized by their desire to win, the mastery of their field and their courage to innovate. Each Inductee within the Hall has made a significant contribution to Off-Road Motorsports in at least one of the following aspects: Business, History, Design, Engineering, Prestige of the Sport, and/or Growth of the Sport.

ORMHOF will be holding the annual Silent Auction on Saturday, October 6 from 5:00-9:00pm in the Vineyard Ballroom inside the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel. For the first time, ORMHOF will also be raffling off several hot ticket items including a master suite, two night stay at the San Nicholas Hotel and Casino in Ensenada. Items included in the silent auction range from tires, exhaust systems to one-of-a-kind signed off-road memorabilia. All proceeds go to benefit the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame.

The 2012 Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo powered by General Tire will take place Saturday, October 6th 9am – 6pm and Sunday, October 7th 9am – 5pm. Held at the Pomona Fairplex, located at 1101 W. McKinley Ave in Pomona, CA. Advance discount event tickets can be purchased at online at www.OffRoadExpo.com for $10 for adults, $5 for children (6-12) thru Friday, October 5th. Dirt Theater, Race-Dezert.com and UTVUnderground.com have been working together to create the ultimate off-road experience for the 2012 Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo. This year’s massive booth will be the place to watch two never before seen off-road films as well as well as collect free stickers, posters and DVD’s. We will also have brand new Race-Dezert.com and UTVUnderground.com T-shirts for sale as well as Mint 400 and Mad Media merchandise.

Free Stickers, Posters, and DVD’s!

Dirt Theater, Race-Dezert.com and UTVUnderground.com will each be dishing out free stuff from the moment the doors open. Posters, stickers, and DVD’s will be available free. We will host a different driver every half-hour all day long so come get signings by your favorite off-road drivers. Rodrigo Ampudia, Kyle Leduc, Chad Ragland, Larry Ragland, Robby Woods, Carl Renezeder, Larry Roeseler, Adam Householder, and Walker Evans are just a few of the drivers that will be signing!

Race-Dezert.com will also be doing a Q&A give away contest with the athletes signing in our booth. We will be asking specific questions about each athlete. The first person that comes to the booth with the right answer will win! So stay close to facebook.com/racedezertcom for all the latest updates.
