Kind of in the title, anyone recommend either or? Curious why more people don't run superchargers, I've always thought it would be better than a turbo. Thanks in advance!

supercharger is more complicated with a belt drive system off the stator side of the engine. there are people who make these kits, they are costly and more complicated than a turbo. a turbo exhaust manifold, bolt the turbo on, and run the exhaust back out the back, pipe in the new charge line into the intake and boom you are done. its faster and easier. from a performance standpoint the turbo works exceptionally well on a CVT machine because with proper clutching you dont have much if any turbo lag so the machine is extremely fast and works amazingly well. in all of the OEM turbo offerings, when you initially stab the gas you get a surge of power similar to an NA machine, but within 4-5 feet you are in boost and beginning to lay rubber on the pavement. there isnt a big long delay, so a supercharger has minimal gains over a turbo.

Packard supercharger kit for a YXZ is $3800 less than their turbocharger kit.
