BRP Continues Can-Am Amateur Racer Support Program Factory Rebates and Contingency for Certain Can-Am Vehicles

Valcourt, Québec, March 3, 2015 – BRP will continue its Can-Am Amateur Racer Support program for 2015. Owners with eligible, 2012 or newer, Can-Am ATV or side-by-side vehicles may apply for the program. The amateur support program compliments BRP’s industry-leading Can-Am X-Team ATV and Side-By-Side Racing contingency program.

“BRP realizes the level of commitment required to compete for off-road racing championships. By offering our Can-Am Amateur Racer Support and having devoted nearly a million dollars to the Can-Am X-Team contingency program, we can essentially reward Can-Am racers for their efforts,” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am. “The support program allows performance enthusiasts in North America to compete with certain designated Can-Am vehicles, both ATVs and side-by-side vehicles, at select, authorizes events. The bottom line is, win or lose, our programs exist to support racers who support the Can-Am brand.”

Amateur racing participants must purchase a qualifying new or unused ATV or side-by-side vehicle and register with an authorized Can-Am dealer. The list of ATVs include 2014 and newer DS 450 and 2012 and newer Renegade and select Outlander (see rules) models. For side-by-side vehicles, they can purchase a 2012 or newer Can-Am Maverick or 2012 or newer Commander. Once approved for the program, a $1,000 rebate is applied for ATVs and a $1,500 rebate for side-by-side vehicles. However, eligible vehicle numbers are limited and the program will conclude once BRP reaches that number.

Qualified racers can receive cash payouts in the amount earned based on their qualifying finishes. Payments are mailed directly to the participant or legal guardian. Upon the conclusion of the 2015 season, BRP will also award contingency payouts for overall championships earned.

Contingency cash is paid out in numerous U.S. national and regional racing series. Those series include the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series, World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS), Best In The Desert (BITD), SCORE International, Mud Nationals, Championship Mud Racing, 12 Hours of La Tuque and many more. The Can-Am X-Team Racing Contingency Program will be announced in a separate release.

Valcourt, Québec, March 3, 2015
– BRP will support its Can-Am ATV and Side-By-Side Racing Contingency program for 2015 with nearly US $1 million. Regional and national racers are eligible for a cash payout through the program for the 2015 season by competing with Can-Am ATVs and side-by-side vehicles in the United States and Canada.

“Racing plays an integral role in the makeup of the Can-Am DNA. Our contingency and amateur support programs, creates incentive for Can-Am owners who compete on BRP’s line of Can-Am products,” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am. “We designed these racer-influenced programs as a way to reward consumers for their loyalty to Can-Am and to also assist them in a pursuit of a successful racing season.”

Competitors are eligible for cash payout if they race in an authorized racing series with an approved Can-Am ATV and side-by-side vehicle. A racer can potentially earn a payout if they meet the terms of the contingency program and earn a qualifying finish at an approved event. Payments are mailed to the participants or their legal guardian. Additional contingency can be received if a racer wins a class championship in an authorized series. Championship contingency can vary by class and racing series.

Contingency cash is paid out in many national racing series in North America, and includes motocross, hare scrambles, desert endurance, mud and other forms of racing. Approved series include the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series, AMA ATV Motocross series, World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS), SCORE International, Best In The Desert, ATV Mud Nationals and other regional off-road racing series and events.
