Once we decided not to push and make the Mint things have been going smooth and a lot less stress. Scott Neth is almost done with all the tin work and then it gets wired next week, Alba is doing the motor as I type this. Then we have to plumb it and finish putting it together, Sounds simple ;-).....
It's turning out better then I had ever hoped it would and I can't wait to drive it. Hopefully sooner then later.

Yes it is looking good! Neth's doing a great job on the tin work too. Clean, simple and to the point, just how I like it. Good choice with having Nate @ Alba do the motor. Are you doing a Stage 2 kit or is this a full motor build? Personally I think the Stage 2 is a good economical choice and still gets that little extra power.

BTW smart design with putting the air scoop above the radiator shroud, its way more protected and still gets max air flow. I don't like the on the roof concept and have never understood it, but that's just me!

I have a feeling several will "Barrow" design concepts off this car once they see it in person. Lets hope many "Barrow" the concept of tube triangulation! As Julson said if this car was to get hit or get nerfed from a bigger heavier vehicle, these guys will walk away and most likely drive way. I also like the idea of using 1 5/8th tubing for the main chassis.

I guess I havent paid enough attention to see that people weren't "triangulating tubes".

Safety is one of if not the most important thing in mind when I talked to Jimco about building this car. I lost my father two years ago in a UTV accident down in Baja. So safety is always on my mind in one way or another.

I hope that the air scoop works there it was a lot of work to make that shape I wanted. Alba is going with a mild build on the motor. Rods, pistons, cams, springs, ported head, and ECU. We also sent the whole motor out to be polished and Cryo Heat treated. Alba has been building race winning motors for me for over 14 years now. Richie the motor builder was my personal mechanic for most of that time and Nate really knows his stuff and has a ton of knowledge about the XP's.
